Here is an easy and practical way to build your association&#8217;s camaraderie as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jamescitycountyva.gov\/index.html\">James City County<\/a> is sponsoring a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jamescitycountyva.gov\/pdf\/recycling\/Forms-all\/GoodNeighborEnvApp.pdf\">Good Neighbor Environment\u00a0Matching Grant<\/a> for the fall of 2013.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.tarleyrobinson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/IM000837.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-268 alignleft\" alt=\"IM000837\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.tarleyrobinson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/IM000837.jpg\" width=\"230\" height=\"173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.tarleyrobinson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/IM000837.jpg 320w, https:\/\/blog.tarleyrobinson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/IM000837-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 230px) 100vw, 230px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The county&#8217;s stated purpose of the grant &#8221;\u00a0is to enhance the sense of community and environmental wellness of our neighborhoods through the development and accomplishment of a neighborhood sustainable landscape beautification project.&#8221; Consequently, the two categories for the grant are\u00a0Physical Improvement\/Sustainable Landscaping and\u00a0Multi-Neighborhood Project Partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>The grant is not limited to &#8220;formal&#8221; HOAs or Condo Associations, as\u00a0any neighborhood association or neighborhood committee authorized &#8220;to manage and\/or maintain the common areas of a community&#8221; may apply. However, such a neighbor association or committee has a few more obstacles to overcome to apply.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are due on September 30, 2013, and the grants will be announced on October 15, 2013. We will make this information known to our association clients, but anybody is welcome to pass along <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jamescitycountyva.gov\/pdf\/recycling\/Forms-all\/GoodNeighborEnvApp.pdf\">this link to the application<\/a>.
